Andy managed to fit in his studies alongside his work in hardware design for Heber. As part of his role, Andy designs circuits and PCB layouts as well as being involved in the design and test of prototypes and was driven to take this particular higher qualification because it extended his knowledge in both mechanical and electrical engineering. His previous studies had focused solely on electrical engineering and he was able to complete his degree over a two year period.
“I really enjoy the full creation process of hardware design; from drawing schematics to prototyping to full production. I get enormous satisfaction from designing to a client specification to make sure the end product delivered, or exceeds, the original specification. Part of the reason that studying further motivated me so much was the ability to extend my skills and knowledge to get even greater satisfaction from this part of my role.”

“We are very proud of Andy’s achievement and know that he is already putting his knowledge to good use. Further education is very important at Heber and we encourage all staff to get involved as part of their training programme.”
